Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Lead

Job Description :

This position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all electrical components on site in a wood carbon production facility. This includes troubleshooting and repairing all wiring, sensors, circuits, PLC’s, and communication lines as well as re-wiring any components to be replaced. The qualified candidate should have previous experience maintaining an industrial facility, ideally with VFDs, PLCs, and site SCADA systems.

Knowledge of 480v 3 phase, 120v single phase, and 24v DC power is required. IT and networking knowledge is a plus.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Read & Interpret electrical schematics
• Repair / Replace any electrical components that require it
• Work with the mechanical technician to remove/replace any powered components
• Walk through facility multiple times during shift identifying any potential issues or areas for improvement.
• Operate Forklift, Skidsteer, Boom/Man Lift
• Ensure compliance with all safety rules and use of proper PPE
• Adhere to Core Values and Behaviors
• Follow all standard operating procedures
• Ability to read and understand all necessary production instructions, spreadsheets and reports
• Assist plant operator, lab technician, mechanical technician, and loader operator as needed

Physical Demands:

• Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift and move continually during a 12-hour shift.
• Able to climb stairs/ladder up 80 ft in height
• Is subject to lifting 55 lbs.
• Works in non-temperature controlled environment
• Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, and fumes. Material present in workplace (typically contained in raw material) all handled with protective equipment.
• All noise exposure is below 85 db TWA
• The wearing of the following PPE required: hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection. Respirator, gloves, coat, face shield required based on exposure.
• May be required to perform work necessitating entry into confined spaces or at elevations requiring fall protection

Position Requirements:

• Three or more years similar experience.
• Full understanding of electrical systems and components.
• Higher Pay may be available based on experience.
• US Citizen or legally authorized to work in United States.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
